Work at Trellis Work
We build AI agents for Saudi companies and stay to run them. The team is small and works end to end with clients, from our office in the Taawun district of Riyadh.
Your knowledge compounds here.
At most companies your AI knowledge grows as fast as your own projects. Here it grows with everything the team ships for clients, and that adds up quickly.
We partner with Anthropic, OpenAI and IBM. You get private Anthropic and OpenAI training with official certification, and you work on real client systems from the first month.
Six roles, all in Riyadh.
Staff Engineer, Applied AIRiyadh · Full time · Hybrid, 4 days in the office
What this is
For engineers who have led (IC or EM) or founded something, are comfortable owning end-to-end technical outcomes, and want to stay in the code rather than move away from it.
You set technical direction, you write the code, and you are the person the room turns to when something is hard.
Roughly 75% of your time is in code. The other 25% is with clients, often their CTO: understanding the problem, walking through tradeoffs, and making sure what we build gets used.
Most engineers take a decade to see this range of domains. You will work across construction, schools, security contracting and healthcare M&A inside a year. The pattern recognition is the part you keep.
What you bring
- 6+ years of engineering, with real care for the craft. You have shipped complete products end to end and you write elegant, production-ready code across disciplines.
- A specific interest in applying software engineering fundamentals to AI systems. You care about balancing what a frontier model can do against good system design.
- Comfort with senior technical stakeholders. You navigate the conversation well, and you care whether people use what you built.
- High ownership. You move without instruction. No job too big, no job too small.
- Low ego, high integrity. You ask for help and you give it. You hold a high bar for honesty, with yourself first.
Our engineering philosophy
Standard engineering discipline applied to systems that are not deterministic. We design around testable hypotheses, curate the data sets that outlast a single build, put an approval gate in front of anything irreversible, and ship things that still work six months after handover. Physician-founded, so governance is designed in rather than added when a client asks for it.
How we are different
You will not have a year to polish one system. The autonomy on each is yours and the tradeoff is pace: constant time at the frontier of models and tooling, and a muscle for AI product work that is hard to build anywhere else. We sponsor your Claude certification, during work hours, in your first 90 days.
Most people look back at a stretch like this as the biggest growth period of their career. Some do not enjoy it. Use the interview to ask.
Compensation is shared in the first five minutes of the first call. Apply below, or write to careers@aitrellis.sa.
Associate Principal, AI TransformationRiyadh · Full time · Hybrid, 4 days in the office
What this is
You own client engagements end to end. A company signs an assessment and from that point it is yours: you sit with their people, read how the work actually moves, decide what an agent should own and what it must never touch, scope the build, price it, and stay until someone uses it on a Sunday morning without being reminded to.
The fastest way to learn how AI changes a business is to go inside one, then another. You will work across Saudi mid-market operators and technology companies already running Claude without governance. The pattern recognition compounds, and it is the most portable thing you take from this job.
This is the path to being the person a Saudi CEO calls first about AI. Not quota-carrying today. Built to become it.
What you will do
- Run paid assessments. Executive interviews, a workflow map, a scored use case list, and a business case a CFO will argue with.
- Decide what gets built. You say no to the impressive use case with no owner and yes to the boring one that removes a bottleneck.
- Scope, price and carry the build. You are accountable for whether it works, not for whether it was specified correctly.
- Sit inside the client's operation. Their office, their documents, their people, in Arabic.
- Design governance before anyone asks for it: what the agent may read, what it may change, what needs a human signature.
- Join live pursuits. Discovery calls, proposals, the commercial conversation. You learn how we scope, price and position by being in the room for it.
What you bring
- You have owned delivery outcomes for enterprise or mid-market clients, not workstreams. Consulting, systems integration, agency delivery or your own practice all count. Title does not.
- You read a business process you have never seen and find where it actually breaks, which is rarely where the client says it is.
- Working Arabic and English. The interviews happen in Arabic. The documents arrive in Arabic.
- You are credible in a room with an engineer without being one.
- You hold a commercial conversation, including the moment a client asks for something outside scope.
Your first 90 days
By week 4 you run assessments with the founder in the room. By week 8 you run them alone. By week 12 you own the Assess to Build handover and the written method for it, because you will have run it more than anyone.
Who this is not for
Advisors who deliver a recommendation and leave. Anyone who needs a research team, a deck template, or a partner to sign off their point of view. You form the view, you defend it to the client, and you are there when it ships.
Compensation is shared in the first five minutes of the first call. Apply below, or write to careers@aitrellis.sa.
Chief of Staff, Special ProjectsRiyadh · Full time · Hybrid
What this is
A generalist role for someone who wants to see how a company gets built from the inside, and to build parts of it themselves.
No two weeks look the same. One week you are modelling the economics of a new service line, the next you are standing up the CRM, the next you are running LEAP follow-up before the leads go cold. Strategy, execution and the day-to-day, with no playbook written yet.
What you bring
- 3 to 6 years in consulting, banking, or an early-stage company.
- First principles paired with analytical rigour. You take a problem apart before you solve it.
- You find the opportunity and move on it without being asked.
- You teach yourself, fast, without being walked through it.
- Reliability that does not need checking. You do what you said you would, and you sweat the small stuff.
- No ego. You care about the outcome, not the credit.
What you get
Direct exposure to every part of the business: client work, commercials, hiring, partnerships. Sponsored Claude certification during work hours, yours to keep wherever you go next. You will use AI in your own work every day and you will be expected to.
Who this is not for
Anyone who wants a defined remit. The scope changes because the company changes.
Compensation is shared in the first five minutes of the first call. Apply below, or write to careers@aitrellis.sa.
Forward Deployed Product LeadRiyadh · Full time · Hybrid, 4 days in the office
What this is
Clients arrive with an ambitious and usually fuzzy goal. Make procurement faster. Stop losing revisions. Answer parents without three staff doing it by hand. You turn that into a system that works in the real building, and you own it from the first conversation to the day it is in daily use.
You are the face of Trellis to the client, you decide what gets built and why, and you run the execution. When the requirement is vague or the client changes direction, you are the person in the room who says: here is what we are trying to do, here is what we know, here is the plan.
What you will do
- Own the relationship. Day-to-day partner to the client and the person they call, trusted from the site office to the board, candid about tradeoffs.
- Turn an ambiguous business problem into a crisp problem statement, a user journey, and a definition of success the client will sign.
- Write what the engineers build against. Requirements, edge cases, and the evaluation criteria an agent has to pass before a client sees it.
- Run the rhythm. Planning, check-ins, risk, and the coordination that keeps work unblocked without turning into process theatre.
- Drive adoption. Rollout, enablement and the change management that decides whether the system is used in month three or quietly abandoned.
- Work the front of the funnel. Sit in early messy conversations, help a client find the real pain, sketch the approach live, and spot where an engagement grows.
What you bring
- You have led projects where the client was under pressure, the stakeholders disagreed, and the path was not obvious. You push back, reframe, and hold the line on quality. Roughly 6 years and up in product, consulting or implementations, though what you have done matters more than the label.
- You have shipped products with engineers across multiple cycles, not managed a backlog.
- You move from whiteboarding with an executive to writing a clear doc for an engineer without losing the thread.
- Working Arabic and English. Rollout happens in Arabic.
- You will write the scrappy SQL query, draft the support playbook, or take the last-minute demo yourself.
- Curiosity about AI rather than doctrine. You do not need depth on day one. You do need to reason well, learn fast, and overuse AI in your own work.
Who this is not for
Anyone who wants one product to refine for a year. You will run several, on client timelines, and the range is the point.
Compensation is shared in the first five minutes of the first call. Apply below, or write to careers@aitrellis.sa.
Executive AssistantRiyadh · Full time · Hybrid, 4 days in the office
What this is
You are the operational backbone behind the founder. You learn how he works, what he is trying to do this quarter, and what good looks like to him, then you run the operation around that.
- Part calendar owner. You hold a real point of view on how the time should be spent, and you protect it.
- Part systems builder. You design the intake, the rhythms and the workflows that stop the week running the person.
- Part communications operator. You draft, triage and coordinate, and you make sure the right things get attention at the right hour.
- Part operator. You see the gap before anyone names it and you close it.
You will not be the only thing holding this together. An AI Chief of Staff already runs triage, filing, briefing prep and memory across the business. Your job is the half it cannot do: judgment, people, and the call on what actually matters this week. You will also decide what the agent takes on next, which is not a line another operations role in Riyadh can offer you.
What you will do
- Own the calendar with a point of view. High-volume scheduling across client engagements, travel and a Riyadh week. You make the call, you do not forward the conflict.
- Keep him ahead of what is coming. Track open commitments, surface blockers, and make sure he walks into every room already prepared.
- Build the systems. Intake, communication rhythms and tooling that remove a problem permanently instead of weekly.
- Be the communications layer. Draft and triage on his behalf in Arabic and English, and turn inbound into a recommended action rather than a summary.
- Make logistics invisible. Client visits, LEAP, travel, and anything with a date attached.
- Be the steady point of contact. Internally, and with clients, partners and government.
What you bring
- You have supported a senior leader through a fast, high-stakes period. Typically 5 to 8 years, though the scope you held matters more than the count.
- Upward management as a craft. You anticipate, you flag what he has not seen yet, and you take pride in making him more effective.
- You write clearly, and you write in someone else's voice when the situation calls for it. Arabic and English.
- A bias for systems. You look for the version of a task that does not need doing again next month.
- Sharp prioritisation. You hold a lot of context, make the tradeoff yourself, and create no overhead doing it.
- Discretion. You will see client contracts, banking and commercial terms. That trust is the role.
- You want AI inside your own workflow. You will get more of it here than anywhere else in Riyadh.
Who this is not for
Anyone who wants a defined inbox and a queue to work through. You will make calls on his behalf, and you will be right often enough that he stops checking.
Compensation is shared in the first five minutes of the first call. Apply below, or write to careers@aitrellis.sa.
Intern, General ApplicationRiyadh · Internship
What this is
A standing application for internships, open to students and recent graduates from any discipline. There is no fixed list of intern openings. Tell us who you are, and if there is a fit we shape the internship around it.
We look for four things. Your degree subject is not one of them.
What you bring
- You figure things out. No instructions and no one to ask, and you still find the way in.
- You are intelligent. You take a problem apart and reason to an answer you can defend.
- You learn fast. A tool you have never touched is productive in your hands within days.
- You communicate clearly. People understand you the first time, and you say plainly what you do not know.
Compensation is shared in the first five minutes of the first call. Apply below, or write to careers@aitrellis.sa.
What you get.
- Private Anthropic and OpenAI training, with official certification.
- Real client work in production from the first month.
